New record for the Maltese Islands. The above material belongs to the nominate subspecies Parodontodynerus ephippium ephippium (Klug, 1817) which is present throughout southern Europe, as well in Southwest Asia to Iran (Gusenleitner 2000b). In the Maltese Islands, this species seems to be most active between the warm months of May and July.
