Discussion. By examining the holotype of Chromatonotus elegantula, a tergal modification was observed only on the seventh abdominal segment. This modification is a character for Ischnoptera, which leads us to transfer C. elegantula to Ischnoptera and to propose Ischnoptera elegantula (R.S.Albuquerque, 1974) comb. nov.
