Type hosts: Scopus umbretta Gmelin ( Pelecaniformes: Scopidae) from Rwanda.

Diagnosis. Palp tarsus with 3 setae (2 setae Be-type and 1 BDa-type) and solenidion; palp tibia without setae. Hypostomal setae BDa-type. Sensillae si SC-type, other idiosomal setae (including coxae) BDa-type.

Hosts and distribution. Coraciiformes (Coracidae): COracias caudata caudata Linnaeus from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Akanyaru] (Fain 1956a).

Pelecaniformes (Scopidae): ScOpus umbretta Gmelin from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Butare, Akanyaru, Gisagara] (Fain 1956a; present paper).

New material examined. Two females from ScOpus umbretta Gmelin ( Pelecaniformes: Scopidae), RWANDA: Southern Prov., Gisagara, 8 March 1968, coll. A. Fain; specimens deposited in the RBINS.
