Type host: Eurillas latirostris latirostris (Reichenow) ( Passeriformes: Pycnonotidae) from Rwanda.

Diagnosis. Hypostome with 2 pairs of setae. Setae ve present. Setae vi situated posterior to level of setae si. Sensillae SEa-type. Agenital and pseudanal series with 2 pairs of setae, each. Number of leg setae: coxae 2–1–1–0, trochanters 1–1–0–0, femora 7–4–3–3, genua 4–4–3–3, tibiae 5–3–3–3. All setae on genu and tibia of leg I similar in shape. Claws with basal angles. In larvae, antaxial and paraxial claw pair of leg I unequal, antaxial sharp-ended, paraxial blunt-ended.

Hosts and distribution. Passeriformes (Pycnonotidae): Bleda syndactylus wOOsnami Ogilvie-Grant from unknown locality in Central Africa (Fain 1958a; see remark), Eurillas latirOstris latirOstris (Reichenow) (= E. l. eugenius) from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Akanyaru] (Fain 1956b).

Locustellidae: SchOenicOla brevirOstris alexinae (Heuglin) from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Akanyaru] (Fain 1971).

Remark. This mite species was reported from an individual of Bleda syndactylus wOOsnami died in the Antverpen Zoo (Fain 1958a). This host is distributed in the Central Africa (from east Democratic Republic of the Congo to south Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia (Clements et al. 2016)).
