Dodomeira ficuzzensis species group (2)

Diagnosis. A Dodomeira group of medium-large sized species (length: 3.30–4.10 mm.) with stubby body (length/ width ratio: 1.51–1.57) and sub-oval elytra. Rostrum with epistome inconspicuous. Mesorostrum with widened and golden setae. Antenna with length scape/length funicle ratio 0.67–0.69. Pronotum transverse (length 0.70–0.90 mm, width 0.85–1.00) with length/width ratio 0.82–0.90. Elytra clothed by dense imbricate dark brown scales here and there paler, with slim setae, slightly widened apex, semi-erect (45°–75°).

Distribution. The species of this group lives in central-western Sicily and and in the Sicani Mountains (Fig. 140).

Main soil type. Rendzina (European Soil Data Centre; Panagos et al. 2012).

Reproduction. To date, all species are parthenogenetic or probably parthenogenetic.
