Dichotomius (selenocopris) aielloae Nunes 2016 ı p. 375 (description)
Diagnosis. in the quadraticeps groupı D. aielloae is the unique species with following characters combined: males having a blade-like tooth in the medial portion of cephalic carina (Fig.) (as D. agenor) and males clypeo-genal angle straight.
● HOLOTYPE (male): PANAMA: Darien. Pr. Canaı Pirre Trail. El. 1250 m.ı 4-7-VI-96. FIT. A. R. Gillogly/STOCKWELL STRI-ENT 0046987 [at STRI].
● PARATYPES: same data of holotype /STOCKWELL STRI-ENT 0046986 [1 Ƌ at CEMT]; same data of holotype /STOCKWELL STRI-ENT 0046985 [1 ♀ at STRI].
Remarks. recently described by the first authorı it is the northernmost record for selenocopris ı and the unique trans-Andean record for the subgenus in the Americas.
This species (or a similar one) occurs in Colombiaı Antioquia (Jorge Ariası personal communication).
