Diagnostic characters for the genus. Head and thorax usually with densely distributed, long, wooly, reclining setae; anteocular and postocular region of identical length, or postocular longer than anteocular, first rostral segment the longest, the second rostral segment clearly swollen; pronotum without lateral carinae; metanotum with spine; fore femoral spines distinctly shorter than width of fore femur; fore tarsus at most one-sixth as long as fore tibia; hemelytra with a small quadrate or rectangular basal cell situated laterally at base of discal cell, M free or forming an elongate subbasal cell, apical branch of M sometimes bifurcate, pterostygma remote from wing tip; hindwing with a distinct hamus; pygophore with posterior process, and also combination of other morphological features characteristic of some different similar genera.
