Current name: Tragopogon villosus L. ( Asteraceae).

Note: Specific epithet spelled “villosum” in the protologue.

Although the name is typified, it is treated by the authors of the type choice as of uncertain application, "at least as far as the Iberian peninsula is concerned". Blanca & Díaz de la Guardia (in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 54: 360. 1996) reiterate this.
