Current name: Trichomanes scandens L. ( Hymenophyllaceae).

Note: See discussion by Britton (in Bull Torrey Bot. Club 29: 476. 1902), who observed that while "most authors have followed the English school in taking as the type the specimen in the Linnaean herbarium...the Germans have gone to the original plates cited by Linnaeus...and taken that as the type". However, no explicit choice appears to have been made before Proctor.
