Generitype of Trichostema Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 166. 1929).

Current name: Trichostema dichotomum L. ( Lamiaceae).

Note: Although Epling (in J. Bot. 67: 10. 1929) treated a Clayton collection as the “standard”, this is not equivalent to a type statement (see Jarvis & al. in Taxon 50: 508. 2001).
