Notiothereva brunnipes (Kröber)

(Figs. 30–36, 44).

brunnipes Kröber (1911:500 key, 509 orig. desc.) ( Psilocephala); Metz & Irwin (Metz et al. 2003:244 listing, comb. change, trans. orig. desc.) ( Notiothereva). Type locality Azapa, Chile. Holotype female in SMTD.

Diagnosis. Like Notiothereva argentina and N. bezzii in having the frontal setae absent lateral to antennal base; parafacial lacking setae; and the gena with an anterodorsal patch of short, dark setae. Like N. bezzii in having the halter knob yellow; fore and midcoxa with macrosetae dark reddish brown; and the posterior margin of male sternite 8 (Fig. 31) slightly emarginate. It differs from N. bezzii in having the forefemur lacking anterodorsal macrosetae; cervical sclerite with setae on lateral fourth; and the female frons pruinose.
