Notes.
Pierre ’ s collection was cited in the protologue of S. pierrei (Benoist 1934) . This collection has five duplicates, there are three at P [P 00218442, P 00719405, P 00204977], one at A [A 00286777] and one at NY [00278319]. All specimens bear Benoist ’ s handwriting as follows: “ Strobilanthes pierrei R. Benn. ”. However, P 00218442 has more leaves and inflorescences; therefore, it is selected as the lectotype. The others are isolectotypes.
