Cautethia insolita Haxaire, 2016 (Fig 7. B)
General distribution. Endemic to Hispaniola.
Distribution in the DR. Known only from the type series, two males collected in a single locality in the Cordillera Central (Fig 1. F).
Habitat. The species flies in the lush, cool, high-rainfall forests at high elevations in the Cordillera Central (Fig 9. G).
Host plants. Larval stages and host plants unknown.
Material examined.
Haxaire: La Vega, trail from El Escucharo to Constanza, approx. 9 km north of Constanza: 18°59'06"N 70°48'24"W, 1820 m, 15–16/04/2016, Holotype and Paratype, 2 ♂, UV, leg. Jean Haxaire & Carlos De Soto Molinari [CJHL] .
