Taxonomy: Beuk (1996) synonymized Cosmopsaltria hastata Moulton, 1923 and Dundubia siamensis Haupt, 1918 with D. spiculata . Boulard (2005g) re-established Dundubia hastata as a valid species found in the north. Southern examples are considered to be synonyms of D. spiculata .

Distribution: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma, and Peninsular Malaysia (Beuk, 1996).
