Taxonomy: Boulard (2000a) re-established T. melanoptera as a valid name suppressing T. melanopteryx Kirkaldy, 1909 .

Material Examined: AFSC – Chiang Mai; Wiang Papao, Chiang Rai. Distribution: India, Burma, Vietnam, Indochina, Nepal, the Himalayas (Metcalf, 1963a; Duffels and van der Laan, 1985), and Thailand.
