Kiekie verbena new species

Type material. Female holotype from Costa Rica, San José Province, San José, La Verbena (9.90, -84.11), Tristan coll., deposited in MCZ 79102. Paratypes: 2 females from Costa Rica, San José Province, Santa Maria de Dota (9.65, -83.96), Tristan coll., deposited in MCZ 79091 and 79092.
Etymology. The species name is a toponym in apposition referring to the type locality.
Diagnosis. The females of Kiekie verbena (Fig. 11C) are easily distinguished from all other species of the genus by the shape of the epigynum, with short and wide median field, long lateral projection of the lateral field and short copulatory opening. Internally (Fig. 11D), it presents a short copulatory duct, lacking the prominent laminar curve present in all other species.
Description. Male. Unknown.
Female (MCZ 79102). Total length 11.50. Carapace 5.70 long and 3.90 wide. Clypeus 0.20 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.20, ALE 0.20, PME 0.22, PLE 0.22. Legs measurements: I: femur 4.10/ patella 2.20/ tibia 3.40/ metatarsus 2.90/ tarsus 1.10/ total 13.70; II: 3.80/ 2.10/ 3.00/ 2.60/ 1.30/ 12.80; III: 3.30/ 1.70/ 2.50/ 2.80/ 1.20/ 11.50; IV: 4.40/ 1.90/ 3.60/ 4.30/ 1.50/ 15.70. Leg formula 4123. Leg spination: tibia I–II v2-2 -2-2-2, r0, p0, III–IV v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1; metatarsus I–II v2-2 -2, r0, p0, III v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1, IV v1-1 -1-2-2, r1-1, p1-1. Epigynum (Fig. 11 C–D): median field subpentagonal and short, with strongly recurved openings; lateral fields with small hyaline projection; lateral projections elongated; copulatory ducts laminar; spermathecae bean-shaped and elongated; fertilization ducts small.

Variation. Four females: total length 11.50–20.60, carapace length 5.70–8.60, femur I 4.10–5.80.
Distribution. Costa Rica, San José and Puntarenas Provinces (Fig. 15B).
