Type material. Male holotype from Panama, Canal Zone, Barro Colorado Island (9.15, -79.85), I.1936, J.A. Griswold coll., deposited in MCZ 79100. Paratypes: 1 female from same locality of holotype, 30.XII.1935, J.A. Griswold coll., deposited in MCZ 79097; 1 male and 1 female from same locality of holotype, 18.I.1958, A.M. Chickering coll., deposited in MCZ 79089 and 79090 .

Etymology. The species name is a toponym in apposition referring to the type locality.

Diagnosis. Males of Kiekie panamensis (Fig. 13 A–B) resemble those of K. sarapiqui (Fig. 8 A–B) by the shape of embolus and RTA, but can be distinguished by the shape of the median apophysis, with a narrow base and larger apically, with the cup-shape opening visible in ventral view. The females resemble those of K. sarapiqui (Fig. 8C) by the shape of the epigynum, but can be distinguished by the slightly narrow plate of the median field (Fig. 13C). Internally, the position and shape of the copulatory ducts of K. panamensis (Fig. 13D) are similar to K. sarapiqui (Fig. 8D), but the first can be distinguished by the smaller spermathecae.
