Kiekie sanjose new species

Type material. Female holotype from Costa Rica, San José Province, San José (9.93, -84.08), VI .1929, C.E. Valerio coll., deposited in MCZ 79098. Female paratype from Costa Rica, Puntarenas, Monteverde (10.28, -84.81), 10.XII.1960, C.W. Palmer coll., deposited in AMNH.

Etymology. The species name is a toponym in apposition referring to the type locality.

Diagnosis. The females of Kiekie sanjose (Fig. 11A) resemble those of K. griswoldi (Fig. 10C) by the shape of the median field of the epigynum, with copulatory opening strongly curved, but can be distinguished by the longer median field.

Description. Male. Unknown.

Female (MCZ 79098). Total length 12.20. Carapace 6.70 long and 5.40 wide. Clypeus 0.30 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.27, ALE 0.22, PME 0.27, PLE 0.27. Legs measurements: I: femur 5.70/ patella 2.90/ tibia 4.90/ metatarsus 3.70/ tarsus 1.60/ total 18.80; II: 5.20/ 2.20/ 4.60/ 4.20/ 1.60/ 17.80; III: 4.80/ 2.10/ 3.90/ 3.30/ 1.60/ 15.70; IV: 5.90/ 3.10/ 5.40/ 3.90/ 1.60/ 19.90. Leg formula 4123. Leg spination: tibia I–II v2-2 -2-2-2, r0, p0, III–IV v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1; metatarsus I–II v2-2 -2, r0, p0, III v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1, IV v1-1 -1-2-2, r1-1, p1-1. Epigynum (Fig. 11 A–B): median field narrowed anteriorly and large and convex posteriorly, with large copulatory opening. Lateral field hyaline in the copulatory opening area and with short lateral projections. Copulatory duct laminar and curved. Spermathecae lateraly elongated, narrow retrolateraly and rounded prolaterally. Fertilization ducts laminar and curved upward.
