Type locality. Pakistan.
The species was originally described from Baluchistan (Distant, 1888c) with further references to Quetta (Distant, 1906a) and Pakistan (Oshanin, 1908). Chou et al. (1997) transferred the species as the type species and the only known representative of the genus Linguacicada from Melampsalta Kolenati and include Pakistan in the distribution. Specimens were collected from Omarkot, Sindh, Gharo, Sindh and Mastung, Baluchistan on Tamarix spp. Collection dates were 7.V.2006, 12.VI.2006, and 08.VI.2007.
Remarks. The species has been reported from Pakistan, India and China (Metcalf 1963c; Chou et al. 1997).
