Holotype: MZUSP 104998; adult female, 571 mm DW (approximately the same DW as cited in Carvalho & Lovejoy, 2011); (Fig. 23); Rio Javari, 04°18’15”S, 70°04’19”W, Benjamin Constant, Amazonas, Brazil; depth not listed; M. C. Junior & M. V. Domingues; 05 Sep 2006.

Notes: Type-locality erroneously stated at the original description as “Rio Jamari”, a tributary of the rio Madeira in Rondônia state, Brazil, corrected here to ‘Rio Javari’.

Paratype: MZUSP 108203: PU 09-33; one preadult female, 269 mm DW (same DW as cited in Carvalho & Lovejoy, 2011); locality: Rio Nanay, Amazon basin, Departamento Loreto, Iquitos, Peru; depth not listed; F. Marques; 19 Oct 2009 .
