Abdomen: missing.

Female: unknown.

Comments: N. ponti can be easily distinguished by the acrostichals 2:1. In many aspects, it is similar to N. zosteris . However, the terminalia of the holotype of N. ponti is lost, and these two species will be kept separate here until new specimens are collected. Snyder (1949: 10) pointed that his morphospecies ‘ Neomuscina species 1’ from Santa Cruz, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) is quite similar to N. zosteris, except for having two presutural acrostichals, similarly to N. ponti . For drawings of the terminalia see Lopes & Khouri (1995: 50).

Type material examined: Holotype: male, specimen and chaetotaxy well preserved; microvial with glycerin pinned with the specimen, but the terminalia is missing; label: white, printed “ BRASIL, São Paulo, Campinas / XII-77, A.X. Linhares col.”; label: red, printed HOLOTYPE (MNRJ). Type-locality: Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil.

Geographical distribution: Brazil (São Paulo [type-locality]).
