DISTRIBUTION: S Alberta and S Saskatchewan (Canada) south through W USA to Hidalgo, Baja California, W Sonora (Mexico). Introduced to Lanai Isl (Hawaiian Isis).
STATUS: CITES - Appendix I (Mexican populations); U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered as A. a. peninsularis and A. a. sonoriensis.
SYNONYMS: anteflexa, mexicana, oregona, peninsularis, sonoriensis.
