SYNONYMS: blouchi, borneensis, ceramica, mystaceus, olivieri.
COMMENTS: This species was further described by Müller and Schlegel, in Temminck, Verh. Nat. Gesch. Nederland. Overz. Bezitt., Zool., Mammalia, p. 175(1845], pl. 28(1843], Synonyms apparently from Borneo and Seram were based on wrongly located specimens (Groves, 1981a).
