Distribution and habitat. Gonatodes nascimentoi is endemic to eastern Amazonia, with a disjunct distribution, restricted to east of Paru do Leste River in north of the Amazon River, and to the interfluvium Tapajós–Xingu south of the Amazon River (Fig. 8). It is endemic to Brazil, where it is known from the states of Amapá and Pará. Gonatodes nascimentoi is arboreal and diurnal, inhabits primary terra firme forest, where it is found on the lower part of the tree trunks, between buttresses (15–120 cm above ground), on fallen tree trunks, and in crevices of rocks (Lima 2008; Ribeiro-Júnior et al. 2008; Sturaro & Ávila-Pires 2011; pers. obs.).
