Type (holotype):— CUBA. Pinar del Río: Mantua, Playa “La Cana”, Reserva Ecológica Los Pretiles, 4 m, 22°26’21’’N, 84°17’58’’W, 4 January 2012, Y. Domínguez, C.M. Panfet & R. Novo 313 (HAJB!, isotypes HAJB!, HFA accession 1676!, HUMC accession 5321!, JABU!; Fig. 2) .

Note:—In the protologue of P. filifolia subsp. alba (Domínguez et al. 2014: 90) cited an examined material (paratypes) as “ Y. Domínguez et al. 313 ” (HAJB-PFC 87592, HFA, HUMC 5322). The correct collection number for this specimen is Y. Domínguez et al. 315, since the cited number corresponds to the type material (holotype and isotypes). Moreover, the number “HAJB-PFC 87590” indicated in the protologue (Domínguez et al. 2014: 87) as the holotype should be disregarded since it represents the same collection number as “ Y. Domínguez et al. 313 ”.
