Type species. Epirodera notata Westwood = Physoderes notata (Westwood) .
Diagnosis. Body ovate. Head constricted behind eyes; anteocular portion distinctly longer than postocular portion. Antennae short, inserted laterally, far from eyes; first antennal segment not surpassing apex of head; second visible labial segment longest. Pronotum constricted at or behind middle; anterior lobe broader or narrower than, or equal to posterior lobe, posterior angles semicircular, prominent backward. Scutellum with apex laterally produced. Fore femora incrassated, with tubers beneath; spongy furrow absent.
Distribution. Oriental Region (36 species), New Guinea (2 species), and Madagascar (1 species).
