Diagnosis. The only Neotropical species of the grisea group with the following combination of characters. Males dark brown; gonocoxite with a prominent large, basomesal hook; asymmetrical gonocoxal apodemes; paramere broadly fused with right gonocoxal apodeme; tergite 9 tapered distally with narrow straight apical margin and long, cylindrical apicolateral processes. Females with a pyriform spermatheca that is tapered distally with short narrow neck; and a subgenital plate with triangular or arrow-head shaped anterior portion and posterior portion quadrate with a broad U-shaped posterior margin.
Discussion. This common, widespread mostly Nearctic species was recently recorded from the Neotropics in the Caribbean region from Guadeloupe by Grogan et al. (2016). We provide the first records of D. grisea from Curaçao.
