Distribution and remarks.

Described from Algeria (Warncke 1974) and is also known from southern Spain (Dardon et al. 2014). Warncke originally compared A. icterina to the central European Andrena strohmella Stöckhert, 1928 and suggested an association between the two species. In a revision of Micrandrena species from Iberia, Dardon et al. (2014) redescribed the type of A. icterina noting that the distinctive carina of A. strohmella found on the sides of tergite 1 is absent. However, in our material the carina is present, but weak. On examination of the type material we found that the carina is present, but equally weak when compared to A. strohmella .
