Stenopsocus externus Banks, 1937: 259 . Type locality: China (Taiwan: Taihoku).

Diagnosis. This species is charaterized by the antenna with yellowish scape and brown pedicel, the yellowish pterostigma with brown stripe on the half, and the brown tibia.

Materials examined. Holotype female, China: Taiwan, Taihoku, 2.V.1934, L. Gressitt (MCZ) ; Paratype: 1 female, China: Taiwan, Arisan, 29.V.1934, L. Gressitt (MCZ) . 1 male, Laos: Khammouan, Phou Hi Poun NBCA, near Tha Long, 550 m, 1.IV.2016, Xingyue Liu (CAU) .

Distribution. China (Taiwan, Guangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Guizhou, Sichuan, Gansu, Hebei); Laos (Khammouan); Vietnam (Kon Tum).

Remarks. This species can be identified by the brown pedicel and the distal half of R1 with a brown marking.
