LITERATURE. — Borrow & Demey (2001, 2014); Portier (2002a); Portier (2002c); Sinclair & Ryan (2010); Dowsett et al. (2013).

STATUS. — Palaearctic vagrant.

REMARK. — A single record of C. ruficollis (Portier 2002a) is also reported by Borrow & Demey (2014). As other nightjars, the species is easy to be overlooked outside Breeding period. The status of this species in Burkina Faso needs revision.
