Fig. 14–15

Bodotria ferox Fischer, 1872: 47, pl. 1, Fig. 4; Jones 1956: 198 Cyclapsis cornigera Sars, 1878: pl. 7–9.

Cyclospoides ferox Bonnier, 1896: 533 .

Eocuma ferox Calman, 1904: 161, Fage, 1951: 39, Figs. 33–34; LeLoeuff & Intes, 1972: 27.

Material examined. 1 ovigerous female, 7.3 mm (St. 7: dredge sampling; 9°33.703´S, 13°06.020´E); 1 ovigerous female, 7.5 mm (St. 2: dredge sampling; 7°14.186´S, 12°46.025´E); 2 males, 4.8 mm (St. 3: dredge sampling; 7°49.947´S, 13°02.992´E)

Remarks. We collected two ovigerous females about 7 mm in length and two smaller adult males. E. ferox is very similar to E. dimorphum as established from Fage (1928 a) according to the description of the latter species. In E. ferox females the pereopod 2 is of same length as pereopod 3 and the carapace forms horns.

Distribution. Europe (France, Atlantic and Mediterranean), West Africa (Senegal, Sierra-Leone, Ivory Coast, Angola); 0–73 m and planktonic.
