Diagnosis. Adult (Figs. 4, 5). Wingspan: male 37–38 mm, female 38 mm. Similar to E. variegata, but differs by somewhat darker forewing color and more contrast and angled wing pattern. Basal line as small dot; subbasal line complete, shadowed, dark brown; antemedial line thin, brown, angled basally on Cu-trunk; v-like joined with submedial line on anal margin; orbicular distinct, elongate, formed by thin brown border line, with reed brown nuclear, shadowed by distinct medial shadow in costal area, joined with reniform; medial shadow strong in costal area, traceable and diffused in medial field; reniform v-like, angled basally; postmedial line angled outward at vein M2, apical angle with oblique pale yellowish dash, following from apex and surrounded with triangular brownish patch below; subterminal line oblique, thin; subterminal line sharply dentate, strongly angled outward on veins Cu2-Cu3; veins in subterminal and terminal fields suffused with whitish; terminal field pale brownish, with reddish subanal dash. Hindwing pale yellowish-grey with light blackish suffusion. In male genitalia (Fig. 16) tegument broader and vinculum much longer than in E. variegata, uncus cylindrical, longer than in E. variegata, curved basally, with minute hook apically; juxta small, plate-like, valva with parallel margins slightly extended apically and rounded apically; harpe small, transverse, obtuse. Aedeagus rather short, thinner and longer than in E. variegata, vesica moderate, with apical divertilum. In female genitalia (Fig. 21) papillae anales quadrangular, apophyses anterior and posterior ones almost equal in length, antrum large, funnel-like, forming antevaginal plate; ductus bursae short, membranous; corpus bursae ovoid, with ribbed sclerotised patch in joining with antrum. Distribution (Fig. 27). Philippines (Luzon, Mindoro, Negros). Moths collected from January to July.
