One specimen 265 mm, SN; one specimen 55 mm, TT.

Ecology.

Exclusively recorded from soft sediment habitats outside coral reefs. Observed feeding on colonies of the tunicate Didemnum molle Herdmann, 1886. Depth 11-21 m.

Distribution.

Widespread throughout the Indo-Pacific including Mozambique ( TibiriƧƔ et al. 2017), Gulf of Oman (Fatemi and Attaran 2015), India (Apte and Bhave 2014), Tanzania, the Red Sea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji (Gosliner et al. 2008). First documented from the Gulf of Thailand by Mehrotra and Scott (2016).
