[ Malaconothrus monodactylus]

Malaconothrus egregius was recorded from grassland at Rothamsted Experimental Station, Harpenden, Hertfordshire by Evans (1952). The slide-mount of this specimen from this locality has been relabelled ' monodactylus ', which is indeed the correct identification.
