Culex tisseuli was synonymized with Cx. mollis Dyar & Knab by Bram (1967: 80). The holotype of Cx. tisseuli, originally deposited in the LPFM, was transferred to the FMP (Belkin 1968: 21) and found in the MNHP by Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 144).
