One specimen listed in the original publication is wrongly designated as a paratype by Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 143). The holotype of Cx. cauchensis, originally deposited in the IPG, was found in the IPP by Belkin (1968: 14) but was not seen by Harrison (1973: 279) nor Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 143) and was established as non-extant by Pecor et al. (1992: 61). The holotype was found in the general collection of the IPP during this study.
