Lectotype F (with associated larval and pupal exuviae): [Poste de] Saut Tigre, Sinnamary River, French Guiana (MNHP *); coll. G. Senevet and E. Abonnenc; 1 Jan. 1938; no. G.941(2).

Wyeomyia albocaerulea was synonymized with Wy. argenteorostris (Bonne-Wepster & Bonne) by Lane (1951: 335). The lectotype of Wy. albocaerulea was designated by Belkin (1968: 38) and the type series (lectotype and paralectotype no. G.941(1)), originally deposited in the LPFM, was transferred to the FMP (Belkin 1968: 38) and found in the MNHP by Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 144).
