Holotype M: Forêt du Gallion, French Guiana (MNHP); coll. J. Claustre; 3 Sept. 1977.

Despite all of our efforts, the holotype of Cx. insigniforceps, originally deposited in the MNHP (Clastrier & Claustre 1978b: 361), was not found there. We consider that this specimen is probably misplaced in the MNHP.
