Genus Antoonops Fannes & Jocqué, 2008
Antoonops Fannes & Jocqué, 2008: 3 (type species by original designation Antoonops corbulo Fannes & Jocqué).
Diagnosis. Antoonops belongs to the Zyngoonops group, a large assemblage that also includes the genera Zyngoonops, Coxapopha and Triaeris, as well as several undescribed genera (Fannes 2013, Platnick et al. 2012). Antoonops can be distinguished from the other members of the Zyngoonops group by the following combination of features: in both sexes, the abdomen shows a dorsal constriction (Figs. 2A –E, 4E, 12E); the median projections on the male endites are directed posteriorly (Fig. 6 D, E; Fannes 2013, figs. 91F, 92E); males have a slender, unbranched conductor that is situated prolaterally of the embolus (Fig. 8 E, F; Fannes 2013, figs. 90E, 93B).
