Subfamily Thoracostomopsinae Filipjev, 1927

Diagnosis by Smol et al. (2014): Buccal cavity with a long eversible spear made up of the elements of the three buccal cavity sectors. Three pharyngeal glands open dorsally and ventrosublaterally at the jointed part of the spear.
