Holotype: not known to exist, as searches in the wet and dry collections at the BMNH by both J. Beccaloni (pers. comm.) and myself did not reveal it; type locality: Mexico .

Original rank: species. Current rank and status: valid species (Kraepelin 1903; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1942 a, 1974).
