Holotype: not known to exist, not present in MNHP (J.­J. Geoffroy, pers. comm.), not found in 2005; type locality: Guaduas (near Bogota), Cundinamarca, Colombia .

Original rank: species. Current rank and status: valid species (Attems 1930; Bücherl 1939, 1942 a, 1974).

Remarks: Bücherl (1974) gave 1914 as the publication date; the cover sheet on my copy of Ribaut’s paper states “1912,” but the volume containing this article was not distributed until early January 1913. A letter in the Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, dated 15 January 1913 and written by the author of the article immediately following Ribaut’s, thanks O. Fuhrmann for the reprints “just received” (J.­P. Haenni, pers. comm.).
