Original rank: variety of S. subspinipes Leach, 1815 . Current rank and status: synonym of S. subspinipes (Kraepelin 1903, Brölemann 1909, Attems 1930, Bücherl 1942 a).

Remarks: Scolopendra gracilipes Daday, 1891, is a junior primary homonym of S. gracilipes Wood, 1861, from Singapore, also considered a synonym of S. subspinipes (Kraepelin 1903, Attems 1930). The name was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
