Holotype: not known to exist; Bollman (1893) cited the NMNH accession number (1909), but the specimen is not in the latest type listing nor did I find it during a check of their types in 2004; type locality: Swan Island (in the Caribbean Sea), Honduras.

Original rank: species. Current rank and status: valid species (Bücherl (1942 a). Kraepelin (1903) regarded sanatillae as a questionable synonym of S. viridis maya Saussure, 1860; Attems (1930) listed it as an unrecognizable species.

Remarks: This name was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
