Zadbimyia zurqui sp. n.

Diagnosis. In Z. zurqui, the presence of three pairs of small paramere processes is combined with pronounced, broadly rounded lateral shoulders and a short apicomedial portion (Fig. 21 C). The gonostylus (Fig. 21 A) is longer than in any other Zadbimyia .

Other male characters. Body length 1.4 mm. Head. Eye slightly narrowed ventrally, eye bridge 7–8 ommatidia long dorsally. Scape length 1.5 × pedicel length. With 18 flagellomeres. Fourth flagellomere (Fig. 21 B): neck length 0.3 × node length, neck with microtrichia basally, circumfilum slightly sinuous, not looped. Palpus 4- segmented. Thorax. Anepisternal and anepimeral setae sparse. Terminalia. Gonocoxites (Fig. 21 A): setae sparse ventromedially, ventral emargination broadly V-shaped, membranous at base of V. Gonostylus elongate, evenly curved, almost parallel-sided, slightly tapered toward apex, excavated dorsomedially (Fig. 21 A). Ejaculatory apodeme as long as parameres (Fig. 21 C). Parameres (Fig. 21 C): basal portion elongate-subtrapezoid.

Etymology. The name, a noun in apposition, refers to Zurquí, the type locality of this species and main study site of the ZADBI project.

Holotype. Male, Costa Rica, San José province, Moravia, Zurquí de Moravia, 1600 m, 3–11 Jan. 2013, Malaise trap, ZADBI Project (ZADBI #378, INBio #105705).
