Diagnosis. The subtriangular outline of the parameres as well as the lack of paramere processes (Fig. 23 C) are characteristic of Z. inornata .
Other male characters. Body length 1.9 mm. Head. Eye strongly narrowed ventrally, eye bridge 9–10 ommatidia long dorsally. Scape length 2.5 × pedicel length. Antennae broken, maximum of 10 flagellomeres retained. Fourth flagellomere (Fig. 23 B): neck length 1.3 × node length, neck completely covered with microtrichia, hooded alveoli smaller than in other Zadbimyia . Palpus 3-segmented, third segment longer than first and second segments combined. Terminalia. Posterior margin of tergite IX concave medially. Gonocoxites broad, markedly narrowed ventrobasally, ventral emargination broadly V-shaped, broadly sclerotized at base of V, with dense short setae laterally (Fig. 23 A). Gonostylus thick, parallel-sided, evenly curved, strongly tapered toward apex (Fig. 23 A). Ejaculatory apodeme shorter than parameres, ducts of accessory glands indistinct (Fig. 23 C). Parameres seemingly two-pointed apically, a pair of U-shaped invaginations at the position being supposed to hold processes (Fig. 23 C).
Etymology. The name inornata is a Latin adjective meaning undecorated, in reference to the absence of paramere processes.
Holotype. Male, Costa Rica, San José province, Moravia, Zurquí de Moravia, 1600 m, 24 Sep. 2012, CDC light trap, ZADBI Project (ZADBI #53, INBio #105066).
