Fedrizzia Canestrini, 1884: 707 . Type species: Fedrizzia grossipes Canestrini, 1884, by monotypy. Toxopeusia Oudemans, 1927: 80 . Type species: Toxopeusia strandi Oudemans, 1927, by original designation. Synonymy by Womersley (1959).

Diagnosis. Both sexes: dorsal shield sometimes with large dorsal pores; with separate ventral and ventrianal shield (Fig. 15); lateral setae on ventrianal shield 10–30 long; exopodal region usually with spotted pattern; pores laterad CxIV in a longitudinal line; seta pv1 on femur III–IV usually unmodified, sometimes thickened; spur on palp trochanter usually with blunt process (Figs 27–29); seta av1 on palp trochanter pilose (Figs 27– 31); seta h1 smooth, usually straight; corniculi on hypostomal tubercles (Fig. 4 a); both non-filamentous cheliceral excrescences ribbon-like with crenate and serrated edges (Fig. 22). Female: sternogynial shield an inverted bell-shape, curving outwards anteriorly and bluntly pointed posteriorly (Fig. 3 a). Male: base of tritosternum same form as female; with separate presternal shield bearing setae st1; anterior valve of genital opening larger than posterior valve (Fig. 21 a), flanked by zero or one pairs of pores; CxI same form as female CxI.
