Fedrizzia laevis (Canestrini), 1884: 707 .
Neofedrizzia laevis – Womersley, 1959: 47.
Diagnosis. Male: idiosoma 910 long; anterior hyaline projection does not extend past CxI; tetartosternum absent, form of presternal processes unknown; pedofossae IV absent; genital opening placed between CxIII– IV; femur III and IV with lamellae small or absent. Also with: idiosomal width 660, ventrianal shield 190 long, 425 wide.
Remarks. This species was described from a single male collected from Queensland, and is distinguished by having the male genital opening placed at the mid-level of coxae III instead of between CxII–III. The type specimens ought to be in Canestrini’s collection, but are no longer there (pers. comm., P. Nicolosi, University of Padua).
