Petalomium fimbrisetum Ebermann and Rack, 1982

Petalomium fimbrisetum Ebermann and Rack, 1982: 176, figs. 1–5.

This species was described from Austria from ants Lasius flavus (Ebermann & Rack 1982) . It was also recorded from Hungary (Mahunka & Zaki 1984). Khaustov (2005) reported it from Russia (Crimea) on ants Lasius flavus .

Material examined. Four females, RUSSIA, Tyumen Province, Tyumen District, vicinity of Tyumen, 57°09'50.4"N, 65°27'26.7"E, on Lasius flavus, 24 August 2015, coll. A.A. Khaustov.

Remarks. Petalomium fimbrisetum is very similar to P. chaetosus (Krczal, 1959) . Both species are characterized by an elongated gnathosomal capsule with unusually long setae cha, the same shape of pseudanal setae, not bifurcated setae 1 b, the same shape and relative lengths of solenidia on tibiotarsus I; both species were recorded from Lasius flavus . The only difference between descriptions of P. chaet osus and P. fimbrisetum is that seta h 1 in P. chaetosus is subequal to f, while in P. fimbrisetum seta f is distinctly longer than h 1. In my opinion P. fimbrisetum with very high probability is junior synonym of P. chaetosus, but final synonymy requires comparison of the type materials.
