Notes.

Lophopterys currently comprises seven accepted species (two threatened species; Suppl. material 1) of lianas endemic to the non-flooded forests of the Amazon and Atlantic rainforests of Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana, French Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela, South America (POWO 2024).
